Backing the Next Generation: University Meat Proudly Supports the Victorian Young Chefs Pop-Up Dinner

At University Meat, we believe that the strength of Australia’s hospitality industry lies in its future, and that future is shaped by the passion and skill of emerging chefs. That’s why we are proud to be sponsoring the upcoming Victorian Young Chefs Pop-Up Dinner on Saturday, 23 August in Kensington.

This exclusive one-night-only dining experience will bring together some of Victoria’s most promising young culinary talents, all part of the Victorian Young Chefs program under the Australian Culinary Federation. Guests will enjoy a five-course menu paired with beverages, with every dish conceived, prepared, and presented by the chefs themselves.

Why We’re Involved

Supporting this event is about more than just providing great produce, it’s about investing in the next generation of hospitality leaders. To help bring their menu to life, University Meat has proudly donated whole duck, which will feature as the hero ingredient in one of the night’s standout courses. This premium product gives these chefs the opportunity to showcase advanced culinary technique and creativity, without compromise.

As we mark 65 years of supporting Australian hospitality, University Food Group continues to champion initiatives that build skills, confidence, and opportunity for young professionals. Events like this demonstrate the power of collaboration between industry and education, creating real-world experiences that prepare chefs for long, successful careers.

About the Victorian Young Chefs Program

  • Professional development through workshops and mentorship
